Kiltwalk 2021
We did it! Our amazing people walked a total of 16.5 miles, raising over £1000 which was topped up by the Sir Tom Hunter Foundation, bringing our total to £1,633.36 for the STV Children’s Appeal.
Kiltwalks are mass participation walking events that raise much-needed funds for Scottish charities and projects. Since 2016, the Kiltwalk heroes have raised £16.5 million and The Hunter Foundation have added £8.5 million – that’s a total of £25 million for over 2,000 charities.
The 2021 Kiltwalk raised money for nearly 500 charities and was the first live event since the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 4000 heroes took part (including 9 of our people) walking from Glasgow Green to Dumbarton. A couple of our people even ended up on the front page of The Sun, and featured in articles in both The Herald and The Glasgow Times. Talk about fame!
We asked our people what word they would use to describe their Kiltwalk experience, here are a selection of their answers: fun, satisfying, bittersweet and enjoyable. Even though there were a lot of blisters and sore legs (for days), it was worth it in the end.
Bring on next year!
